Instagram Reels for a Local Business: A Month That Actually Works
A repeatable monthly content plan for a shop, clinic or service business, shot on a phone.
Local business pages die from inconsistency, not from bad content. The fix is a plan small enough that you can actually keep it: twelve posts a month, four of them reels, shot in two sessions.
The four reels
- The process. How the thing is made, fixed, cooked or delivered. People watch work being done.
- The question. The one customers always ask, answered in thirty seconds by the owner, on camera.
- The before and after. Any transformation, however small.
- The person. Someone on the team, thirty seconds, no script. This one always outperforms the polished ones.
The eight posts
Two customer photos or reviews with permission, two product or service explainers, two local or seasonal posts, one behind the scenes, one offer. Design them in one sitting, schedule them, and leave it alone.
Practical rules
- Shoot vertical, in daylight, near a window.
- Burn captions in – most people watch on mute.
- Say where you are in the first three seconds. Local intent is your advantage.
- Reply to every comment and DM within the working day.
- Put the WhatsApp number in the bio and in the pinned post.
Twelve consistent pieces a month for six months will beat a burst of forty and then silence, every time.
